Auntie Mai

In high school Maija and I were pretty much attached at the hip. It was only appropriate that Laine immediately fell in love with her Auntie Mai. Our original idea yesterday was to find a park and have a picnic, but rain foiled those plans. Maija came to us, and brought a lovely lunch, including a chocolate vegan cupcake that even a non-dairy eater like me could devour.

Maija took all the photos below--which are amazing. Of course, her subject was very willing to pose, as long as the attention continued to center around her!

When it was time for Maija to go, she tried to sneak Laine home in her bag. Laine wasn't so sure at first...

but then she remembered how much she loved her Auntie Mai!
